I am Merapelo Dube, and I am doing my higher diploma in general nursing at the Institute of health and sciences in Molepolole. I am a refugee who grew up in Dukwi refugee camp. I completed my BGCSE in 2016 at the camp and obtained 44 points. Despite this, I felt hopeless as the government of Botswana makes it very difficult for refugees to get sponsorship. As a result, I spent a year without going to school.
Finally, I decided to try my luck and I applied to the Institute of health and sciences without any hope of getting in.. To my surprise, I was admitted to the school. However I still did not have sponsorship, so I reached out to Skillshare to see if they might be able to help me find a way to pay for school I am elated that they were able to find someone to sponsor my education and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I have.
