The High Achievers program
The High Achievers program started in 2012. The purpose of the High Achievers is to motivate students to study and reach their academic potential by identifying the high performers and sending them to highly recognized private international schools in the country. The objectives is to get a scholarship for at least one student per year.
Program Evolution
- 1 boy (Fisto) who attained straight A’s in standard 7 from DRC was sent to study at Maruapula Map) in 2012. While at Map, Fisto joined basketball and played for the school team. He later resettled in Australia and continued with his basketball playing at international level. He is now in his second year at the university doing Bsc and is aspiring to be a doctor.
- A Zimbabwean girl who scooped all prizes during form 1 was sent to study at Maruapula in 2013. She just completed her A-levels and has been retained by Map as an assistant teacher. She is applying to study nursing at the University of Botswana in August 2018.
- A Zimbabwean girl who obtained straight As in standard 7 sent to study at Kolobeng Livingstone in 2014 and later transferred to Maruapula in 2015. She will complete A levels at the end of 2018.
- An Ugandan girl who obtained 5 A* 3 A and 1 B in additional Maths she was sent to study A levels at Maruapula. She scooped 4 As in her AS at the end of 2017.
