Welcome Picnic For The Newly Arrived Youth

It was on the 1st of February 2020, when the youth of Dukwi refugee camp lead by the youth council held a picnic at Mosetse river. A total of 60 (27 females and 33 males) attended the picnic. The purpose was to welcome youth from different nationalities. At the picnic, some educational discussions were held. For example, knowing your HIV status.

The most interesting part was the friendly debate between boys and girls. The motion of the debate was “Should condoms be distributed at schools?”. The boys agreed with the motion and indicated that students are already sexually active, by having condoms in schools will promote safe sex. On the other hand, girls who were opposing the motion indicated that allowing condoms in schools will encourage students to be sexually active and neglect their school work. However, in the end, the youth agreed that condoms should be distributed in schools.
