The Youth Friendly Space is a social and recreational center intended primarily for use by adolescents and young adults between the ages of 7-29. The space is intended to create a social environment where children can interact with their peers, using interesting and stimulating activities.
SAFE AND SECURE
YFS provides a safe and conducive environment where children and youth can be their age. It helps to establish bonds and interact socially as much as possible. This also provides a healing environment for children :
• Provide a stimulating and supportive environment for children through a wide range of appropriate activities and activities. creates an environment for children to protect them from violence, exploitation, and abuse.
• Promotes youth participation: participation gives voice to different sub-groups of children and enables the sense of ownership.
• A place to identify high-risk children:
• CFS is inclusive and non-discriminatory: it ensures that all children regardless of their class, gender, abilities, language, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, nationality have equal access to CFS.
IMPACT ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH
• Respect: Abusive language is not allowed.
• Improved sanitation through the washing of hands by youth/children before they enter the place.
• Responsibility: Everyone is vested in taking care of the equipment.
• Disciple: Children adhere to the Terms and Conditions. For example, they share equipment. Initially, older children used to bully the younger ones and not share equipment.
LIMITATIONS / CHALLENGES
• Children come with their younger siblings who are too young for the place.
• Children refuse to go home when staff knocks off
• Other children dodge going to school and want to come to the play.
