Hi world
I am Merapelo Dube, a 24 years old young lady from Zimbabwe who grew up as a refugee in Botswana at the Dukwi refugee camp.

I did well at the end of my primary school leaving examinations and was one of the high achievers at the end of high school. Refugees barely get sponsored to further for tertiary education therefore I was honestly scared about my future wondering what will become of me. I tried to apply for sponsorship but was unsuccessful. However, I was not lucky and had to stay home for a year. I didn’t give up. The following year I applied again, then Skillshare international Botswana to me get the sponsorship to study what I solely wanted all along …which was nursing and now here I am, a General Nurse working for Gaborone Private Hospital.
I completed my studies in May 2021, got employed at the beginning of September, and due to graduate on 15 October 2021. Imagine, I shall be able to meet the needs of my graduation. God is good, all the time. I am genuinely happy about this cause I don’t know what and where I could be if it was not for them.
My mere advice to someone out there …. especially the refugee youth is “never give up.” God always bless us through people and me, Skillshare International Botswana was sent to me by God himself.
I will never thank you enough and words barely can explain how grateful I am every day.
We are so proud of you! A major congratulations to you.
Well done girl. You deserve it.
Your smile says it all.
